Medical Foams

UFP MedTech offers a full range of closed-cell and open-cell medical foams including XLPE, polyurethane and reticulated polyurethane, engineered for demanding clinical environments. These foams support wound care devices, equipment cushioning and padding, infection prevention components, and protective packaging inserts across a wide range of medical applications. Each foam type is selected with biocompatibility and sterilization compatibility in mind, helping device manufacturers move from material selection through validated production with confidence.

Thermoplastic Films

UFP MedTech works with a broad range of thermoplastic films, including flexible, high-barrier, skin-safe TPU films and cost-effective, chemically resistant polyethylene films. These materials are used in surgical drapes, protective pouches, packaging components, and protective barrier layers for complex medical devices and single-use components. Films are selected based on sterilization compatibility and biocompatibility requirements, as needed, supporting consistent performance from prototype through full-scale manufacturing.

Rigid Plastics

UFP MedTech has access to an array of rigid plastics, including PETG, PETE, ABS, and HIPS, used in manufacturing medical device packaging and component solutions. Common applications include thermoformed trays, clamshell packaging, and device housings, produced using our in-house vacuum forming capabilities. These materials are selected based on applicable sterilization compatibility requirements, supporting durable, protective solutions for a wide range of medical products.

Medical Fabrics & Textiles

UFP MedTech works with a broad range of fabrics and textile materials for medical device and patient care applications. Through AJR Specialty Products, a UFP Technologies company, our cut-and-sew capabilities support products such as patient positioning and transfer systems, orthopedic supports, therapeutic garments, and other textile-based medical devices and components. Materials and constructions are selected based on application-specific requirements for comfort, durability, support, and performance.

Composites

UFP MedTech engineers custom composite materials by combining foam-to-fabric, foam-to-film, and foam-to-foam constructions to meet specific performance requirements. These composites are used in positioning devices, orthopedic soft goods, cushioning applications, and wearable device interfaces, where comfort, support, and material performance are critical.

Biocompatible Adhesives

Through Marble Medical, a UFP Technologies company, we work with a range of biocompatible adhesives, including strong, durable acrylic adhesives, skin-safe silicone adhesives for wearable applications, and hydrogel adhesives for wound care and sensor attachment. These materials are selected for ISO 10993 skin-contact compatibility, supporting applications such as wearable devices, catheter securement, wound care, and transdermal patches. Our team helps identify the right adhesive chemistry for each device's clinical and wear requirements.
