Dispenser coils are used to safely protect catheters and guidewires during storage and shipping as well as facilitate aseptic presentation and deployment during surgical procedures.
Catheter and guidewire dispenser coils are typically made from polypropylene (PP) tubing and held in place with injection molded clips. Each coil is a custom length and diameter based on the size and length of the catheter or guidewire. Once loaded, the coil is packaged and sterilized. This design is the industry standard in ease of use, aseptic presentation, and sterility.
Our History of Innovation
In 1987, Contech Medical revolutionized guidewire handling with the first dispenser coil, responding to a customer’s need for a simpler solution that wouldn’t compromise sterility. This innovation laid the foundation for Contech Medical.
In 2005, Contech Medical’s Ireland location split to form Advant Medical. Today, both companies are part of the UFP MedTech family and together they are the largest producers of catheter and guidewire dispenser coils globally.
